I want to buy some Bitcoin as a birthday gift for my wife. This will be her first experience with crypto. I’m not sure where it’s better to put it — in a hot wallet on my phone for convenience or in a cold wallet so it can’t be hacked. What is safer for a beginner in 2026 if the amount is small?

Here is a recent review of hot vs. cold wallets specifically for beginners in 2026: https://www.savingadvice.com/articles/2026/01/13/10714551_hot-wallet-vs-cold-wallet -which-is-safer-for-beginners.html . For a gift and a small amount, a hot wallet (such as Trust Wallet or Exodus) is a normal choice: it is convenient to transfer, show your balance, and use every day without the hassle of a seed phrase. But security is lower due to the internet connection — phishing and malicious software can steal your funds.

Hi, I spent weeks researching different wallets and security setups only to end up more confused and worried about losing my keys. It was a total headache until I found the https://fairmontvaltex-crypto.com Fairmont Valtex login which simplifies the whole process for users in United Kingdom. After several failed attempts to manage my assets on my own, I took a risk on their integrated system and finally secured a massive gain. It was a huge relief to see my funds growing safely in one place. You should definitely check it out.
