Every time it rains heavily, my basement develops a noticeable smell. It fades after a while, but keeps coming back. I’m assuming it’s related to moisture, but I can’t find visible water. It’s frustrating because I don’t know what to fix. I’m worried it could be something hidden. Has anyone found the cause of this?

Backwater valve installation is something that becomes extremely important in cities like Toronto, especially during heavy rainfall. Sewer backups can cause major damage if preventive measures aren’t in place. I’ve been reading more about how these systems work, and backwater valve installation provides a clear explanation of why proper installation is essential for protecting a home from unexpected flooding events.
